Grills Seafood Deck and Tiki Bar, Cape Canaveral, Florida

Most seafoods should be simply threatened with heat and then celebrated with joy.”

Jeff Smith

After our wonderful and relaxing boat ride with Dolfun Tours on the Indian River in Melbourne, we started heading back to our vacation rental in Titusville, Florida. It was lunch time when we got off the boat and we started thinking of places where we would like to eat. It was then, we remembered our friends from Titusville, recommended Grills in Cape Canaveral as a great place to eat. They had been there the night before and were impressed. That was perfect as it was on the way home.

We pulled into the large and crowded parking lot, found a spot, and parked our car. This restaurant had an island feel with palm trees outside the entrance, blowing in the wind. the marina with fishing boats out back, and the smell of salt water in the air. This seemed like a happening, happy, and popular place to eat. Just outside the restaurant was a booth where you can schedule a deep sea fishing tour. In another part of the building is a tackle shop and a nice gift shop which all seemed very busy. We walked into the restaurant and where the hostess led us to a table overlooking the picturesque Port Canaveral Harbor.

The restaurant was decorated with a nautical theme with beautiful pictures throughout. We sat down and were handed menus which had many great fresh seafood dishes to choose from. They also specialize in sushi, sandwiches, and chowder. To my delight, they also had a variety of Tiki-style drinks. While waiting for our lunch to come out, we had drinks while watching the boats pass by. Cruise ships pass right by here and we were told it is a great place to watch a space launch. Now I really felt like I was on vacation, relaxing with great company, great views, and sipping on a wonderful tropical drink. When the food came out, it was delicious. The food was great and the staff were very friendly and professional.

This casual, waterside restaurant at the Sunrise Marina, has outdoor seating as well as a large inside dining area. Grills offers live entertainment to enjoy on most nights. Grills first opened in 1997 and in 2014 went through a major renovation. They added a new kitchen and expanded the dining room.

Grills is now located in three different locations in Florida. Besides the one in Cape Canaveral, there is one also in Melbourne and Orlando. Their hours are Sunday – Thursday 7 am – 10 pm, and Friday and Saturdays 7 am – 11 pm. They are open for breakfast, lunch, and dinner. This restaurant was located at 500 Glen Cheek Drive, Port Canaveral. Check them out at www.grillsseafood.com. I would recommend this restaurant.

Till next time. Bye for now.
