“A well-run restaurant is like a winning baseball team. It makes the most of every crew member’s talent and takes advantage of every split-second opportunity to speed up service.”

Are you are looking for a special place to have a celebratory dinner with friends or just a romantic dinner with the love of your life? Frog Hollow Tavern is the perfect place to go in downtown Augusta for such an occasion. When you pull up outside the restaurant, it has an old world charm and is very welcoming with beautiful wood accents and mood lighting.
The
day we went, we arrived before our company so we sat down at the
large bar and ordered a drink. They have over 100 wine choices and
the bartender was great and guided me to the perfect glass of white
wine for the evening. As we sat there on the comfortable bar stools,
we realized we knew the newlywed couple sitting at the bar near us.
How wonderful getting to spend some quality time with our friends, the Murillo's.
We congratulated them on their recent wedding and got caught up on
all of life’s events. The bar was set up lovely with a brick
background and the bartender was a joy.
After
our family and friends joined us, the hostess lead to our table. We
had made reservations which is a good idea since this restaurant
stays busy. This stylish, modern restaurant had a great ambiance
which draws a very diverse crowd. It is a nice restaurant with white
linen tablecloths but you can either dress casual or get dressed up. The
staff was all very polite, professional, and friendly. Our waitress
was fabulous and helped us decide what entree to order. The entrees
range in price but mostly around $30. After a very difficult
decision, we chose our meals. The braised Berkshire Pork Shoulder,
smoked Gouda mac ‘n cheese, and baby iceberg lettuce wedge were
incredible. All the food had a big flavor and was beyond delicious.
We all were very happy with our meals.
Frog
Hollow Tavern was founded in 2010 and is owned by Sean and Krista
Wight. Sean is the chef and is an exceptional one at that, and
Krista is the co owner. This is a farm to table restaurant using
local farms for the ingredients for all his recipes. You can tell as
all the food is super fresh. This restaurant is open for dinner
Wednesday and Thursday from 5 pm to 10 pm and Friday and Saturday
from 5 pm to 10:30.
Frog
Hollow Tavern is located at 1282 Broad Street, Augusta, Georgia. I
would highly recommend this superb restaurant and know you will be as
happy as we were that we were with the food and service. We will be back.
Check them out at: www.froghollowtavern.com.
Since
opening up Frog Hollow Tavern and having such a great success, the
Wight's have opened up a couple other restaurants downtown including
Farmhaus Burgers, Craft and Vine, and Frog and the Hen Restaurant.
Till
next time. Bye for now.
