Buffington’s, Milledgeville, Georgia

While Joe and I were in the quaint town of Milledgeville, Georgia this past weekend, we noticed this restaurant/bar and decided to go inside for a drink and something to munch on. As we entered the restaurant, we were warmly greeted and sat down in a comfortable booth. We had a very nice waiter who came to our table with menus and asked what we would like to drink. He gave us the drink menu, we were flabbergasted by all the choices and said to give us a couple minutes. They have an amazing craft beer selection of over 50 bottled craft beers and ten draft beers on their menu. On top of that, they also have some great sounding specialty drinks. After much deliberation, Joe choose on of the craft beers and I got an ice cold diet Coke.

Neither of us were really hungry, so we decided to check out their starter menu. They have a great menu and we heard the burgers were fabulous here.  Only wished we were hungrier. They even sell the Beyond Burger which I’ve wanted to try but it would have to wait till another day. We ended up choosing a sampler with four starters. We got their chick-arrones chicken, guacamole and chips, cheese sticks, and pretzel with beer cheese. When it came out, we were impressed by the portion size and everything tasted wonderful. 

Our server was very helpful and friendly. This was a comfortable casual place to relax for a little while with a cool beverage and munchies. The restaurant itself had an eclectic feel and was lovely with the walls painted a warm burgundy color. We noticed there was a stage and found out they have live music here over the weekends from touring and local bands. They also have trivia nights, karaoke nights, and every Monday night they have open mic nights. 

This is a locally family owned restaurant run by David and Mike Hufstetler and their father Mike Hufstetler Sr. They opened it on March 7, 2014. They had closing on the property that morning and they were wide open by lunchtime the same day serving the public. That is pure determination and motivation. They insist on giving great service with a smile and they really do. It was a great stop. 

They are open from Monday – Saturday 11 am – 2 am and Sunday from 11 am – 12 am. This restaurant is located at 120 W. Hancock Street, Milledgeville and their phone is 478-414-1975.
