Ripe Thing Market and Eatery, Greensboro, Georgia

You can’t buy happiness, but you can buy local. And that’s kind of the same thing.”

We visited the quaint town of Greensboro, Georgia recently and have fallen in love with this town and its people. This town has a southern charm that is not to be matched. Every place we visited, we were greeted warmly. This old fashioned whimsical country store was no exception. When we walked into this bright and friendly store, we were greeted by a friendly cashier.

This store has a great curb appeal and makes you want to stop and check it out. Outside the store are a couple picnic tables ready for your relaxation so you can sit and enjoy a bite to eat from the tasty treats inside, Just outside the door they had some beautiful produce along with interesting and fun things to check out. We really enjoyed the fun yard art. When we got inside it was brightly lit and the produce looked amazing and was beautifully displayed. Looking around in this store, there was so much to see. We took our time walking around and exploring.

One whole wooden shelf was nothing but canned items like salsa, pickles, pickled okra, applesauce, peaches, and more as well as jams, jellies made by the Amish. They also sell local honey. There were large canisters with many different varieties of fine olive oils from Greece and Italy. You can fill up a jar of your favorite oil flavor and take it home. They also have decadent candies for your picking as well as healthy snacks. They even have tasty home scooped ice cream. Yum.

The luscious soaps and lotions smelled wonderful and would make a great gift. They have homemade tea out on display where you can choose what flavor you would like including hibiscus tea. In the back of the store were tables if you wanted to sit down for a delicious meal. There is a glass case where you can choose all kinds frozen grass fed meats and vegetables from local farms.

On the other side of the store, there was a deli that made lovely sandwiches from Boar’s Head meats as well as offering a special a day like baked Ziti, burgers, fish tacos, and many more. They also had quite the variety of homemade soups in large crocks to choose making the store smelled incredible. The homemade cornbread looked tempting and would be a nice addition to go with the homemade soups. Or if you are not hungry you could just pick up a cup of Jittery Joe’s Coffee.

This is just a fun store to shop. We did pick up some of those tomatoes that looked so good, and they were the real deal. They were full of flavor and delicious. If you enjoy farmers markets and country stores, you will enjoy this place.

We will be back the next time we are in town to shop. Till next time. Bye for now.
