“Climb the mountains and get their good tidings. Nature’s
peace will flow through you as sunshine flows into trees. The winds
will blow their own freshness into you, and the storms their energy,
while cares will drop away from you like the leaves of Autumn."
John

Now
that it is October, isn’t it time for you to think about going to
the mountains to see the leaves changing. For Joe and I whenever the
first sign of it getting cooler in the evenings, we start to dream of
going to the mountains – the Georgia mountains. I believe I hear
them calling to us.
We
love heading to the Blairsville, Georgia area as there is so much to
do there. The Sorghum Fest in Blairsville is coming up the next
couple weekends in October and that is great family fun with music,
games, and great food. There are also more than 26 wineries in
Northeast Georgia for you to visit and discover. Crane Creek Winery
in Blairsville always have a great fall fest that is great for kids
as well as adults. They have painting for the kids, grape stomping,
live blue grass music, and to make things even better – great wine.
It is so beautiful there. I could sit on their patio with a glass
of wine and cheese and crackers and just take in the view all day.
Their property is just lovely. Their fall fest is this Saturday, October
20th.
If
you are into waterfalls, North Georgia is the place for you. There
are so many waterfalls to see in the area and trails to be walked Helton Falls are beautiful so we have gone there a couple times. One
time our GPS took us a back way where we had to cross a creek twice.
That was the oddest thing driving a regular road and then seeing a
rushing creek in front of you. We were a little hesitate thinking
our GPS could be wrong but we decided since we were in a jeep it
should not be a problem crossing. Our daughter was in a twelve
passenger van that when she tried to cross it – got stuck.
Fortunately she was able to back out and when she tried again she
made it. Both vehicles made it safely through both creeks.

Falls is beautiful to see also. It is Georgia’s highest falls.
It is wonderful being able to enjoy all the falls in Georgia. We’ve
seen many but there is so many more to see. Our challenge it to see
them all.
There is something so special about going to the mountains that just
refreshes your soul, especially in the fall. The majesty of the
mountains with the fall colors is stunning. You can see why they call the Blue Ridge Mountains by that name as the mountain look blue from a distance.
God
created a masterpiece when he made the Blue Ridge Mountains. There
are so many trail you can take, short or long. There is nothing as
tranquil as a walk through the woods with sun peaking through the
trees and shining down on us. How wonderful nature is to be seeing
deer grazing in the woods and pastures and hearing the song birds
sing. How peaceful it was when we walked the trails. There are
times when no one is in sight. That is when you breath deep the cool
crisp air and enjoy the solace.
Go
to the mountains if you can. Sit, look out at the amazing beauty,
enjoy the serenity of the mountains, and feel Gods presence. We are
going for this years trip this weekend. Come with us to see more
sites in the mountains and relax. More to come. Till next time.
